To My Mum

Hey Mumma,

This is a blog post for you. I wanted to let you know how fantastic you are and recognise how sometimes you may feel quite under-appreciated, and I know one small blog post won’t eradicate all of that but I hope it can remind you of why you’re the strongest and most amazing person I know.

From the day I was born, you have never failed to do your utmost to make sure I had a good upbringing and only the happiest of memories 🙂

From the get go, you’ve shown me how, no matter what negativity life throws your way… it always passes and that you can’t lose sight of a positive outcome, or some sort of silver lining that will inevitably come from it. And the best part is, is that you’re always by my side.

You support me at my darkest times, reassure me in my anxious times and celebrate with me in my happiest times. Most importantly, you have never made me feel like I have to hide anything from you and that’s what makes you great. That no matter what I do, even if it’s what I consider the biggest of screw ups, although you may be angry… I know that I can tell you and you will give me the advice or help I need.

Your commitment to what you set yourself to is what I admire the most. Both to your family, and your work. I know work can be tedious at times, but regardless of what you are tasked with, you don’t half ass it. This is the most fantastic message to send to us kids. Not only that, but you commit to your family, us, so hard. You have just had the longest week at work, and yet you insist on taking us out and doing something, which is amazing… because even after one day at uni… I need the next day off. Not only do you take us out every weekend, but you try your hardest to find something that suits ALL of us (20, 15, 9 and 7 year olds). In this day and age, and especially in this financial climate I think balancing work and family can be so so hard, but we can all see how you go above and beyond to make sure we know how important we are to you. Don’t ever forget that.

You are without doubt, my favourite person on this planet, who does everything for other people- and hardly then thinks about herself (which you need to do much more of by the way). You haven’t had the easiest patches in your life, but you’ve never let that affect your amazing ability to be a mum ❤️

You’re the most beautiful person inside and out, and I’m so glad I get to call you my mum ☺️ I appreciate you so much.
